Reading & Writing: Engaging Language Arts for Every Age
Our writing classes give students the chance to explore a variety of styles — from persuasive pieces and biographies to research papers and creative stories. Teachers adjust instruction based on grade level, always weaving in grammar and vocabulary development to strengthen each student’s writing voice. For Reading & Literature, younger students (grades 1st–4th) benefit from the dynamic Rooted in Reading curriculum, which brings books to life through interactive discussions and comprehension activities. Older students (5th grade and up) engage in rich novel studies, connecting deeply with literature through vocabulary work, comprehension discussions, and creative projects.

Math That Makes Sense
Math is taught using the time-tested Saxon Math curriculum, known for its strong spiral approach that helps students build long-term retention and skills mastery. Each class incorporates hands-on math centers to reinforce concepts in a fun, collaborative way. Whether students are reviewing foundational skills or tackling new challenges, they’re supported every step of the way in a nurturing, small-group setting.
Building Strong Foundations Together
At Parker County Homeschool, we believe education is most impactful when it’s both structured and nurturing. Our Core Classes are designed to equip students with essential skills while encouraging curiosity and a love of learning. Small class sizes allow for individualized attention, while hands-on activities and meaningful discussions make each subject come alive. Whether it’s mastering multiplication, diving into a new book, or expressing thoughts through writing, students leave each day feeling accomplished, confident, and excited for what’s next.
